April 21, 2003 - SOLD OUT and SUCCESSFUL PHILLY SCREENING! The War Effort sold out its April 15 screening at the Philadelphia Film Festival, and the 450 attendees were totally enthusiastic. Most of the cast and crew were in attendance, along with Pennsylvania State Senator Michael O'Pake (D-11th District, and polar opposite of the film's Senator Skippy) who enthusiastically endorsed the movie. During the Q&A session, a Vietnam Veteran thanked the crew for making the movie and praised its boldness at a time when the media is ignoring the truth about "The War on Terrorism".

The movie also received nominations for both Best Feature and Technical Achievement. Watch the site for further screenings around the globe.

March 18 2003 - The official Philadelphia Film Festival site has been launched. On it, you'll find official screening times for The War Effort, festival event schedules, venue information, ticket prices, even buy your tickets online! January 23 2003 - The sixth annual Nodance Film Festival, the world's first DVD-projected film festival, announced its winning films January 22nd, 2003 at their packed Main Street headquarters across from the Egyptian Theater. Nodance celebrates the best in alternative digital film.

Making a surprise appearance at the awards ceremony, actress Salma Hayek presented the Free Spirit Award to director Mike Figgis (whom she worked with in both "Hotel" and "Time Code.") Both films, and the dance doc "Flamenco Women," were presented at the festival as a part of a retrospective on Figgis' career.

Top winners at the festival were:

"Outpatient" directed by Alec Carlin won the Grand Jury Award for Best Feature, "Our House" directed by Sevan Matossian won the Grand Jury Award for Best Documentary. Audience award winners were "The War Effort" directed by Bob Cesca for Favorite Feature, and "The 7th Man" directed by Jason Liggett for Favorite Short.

Top winners for short films included; "Shadowboxer" directed by Vilka Tzouras and "Evelyn" directed by Brad Peyton. The Golden Orbs Award for Best Marketing went to "Our House" and "The War Effort."

Special Recognition went to the surf epic documentary "Step Into Liquid" directed by Dana Brown.

Presenting the awards were festival sponsor and actor Forest Whitaker, as well as festival director James Boyd. This marked the sixth year for the successful Park City festival.

January 6, 2003 - THE WAR EFFORT will make its world premiere as an official selection of the NODANCE Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

DECEMBER 5, 2002 - Thumbs Up to a metal god!  Mark Slaughter, founder and lead singer of SLAUGHTER, has signed to perform the vocals for Tim Panella's tongue-in-cheek patriotic masterpiece "Thumbs Up to the USA": the theme song for the film.  Slaughter performed his amazing vocals at his mid-western recording studio and the tracks were mixed with Panella's inspiring music here at the Suites & Casinos.  If Lee Greenwood were alive, he'd puke into his cowboy hat.  Wait - this just in - Greenwood's still alive.  Well then.  Betcha he's puking.

DECEMBER 3, 2002 - After an entire year of filming, and three months of editing and mixing, THE WAR EFFORT is finally complete! A huge thanks to everyone who volunteered their time and boundless energy into making this, hands down, the most inspiring Camp Chaos project to date. The final cut of the movie clocks in at 106 minutes and features some of our most controversial comedy since Napster Bad. The next step will be threefold: film festivals, possible theatrical distribution, and a definite DVD release in 2003.
